Dreaming over the Post-Burnout World

This exhibition by the Monika collective explores performative approaches to the crisis of leisure. It seeks ways to collectively experience the symptoms of burnout, fatigue, and decline. It lingers in the ruins of a dilapidated spa and shows images of a world that burned out long ago.

With romantic melancholy, it explains forgotten concepts: relaxation, recreation, doing nothing, and, at GAVU, it reconstructs the memory of a public holiday for all."Minute by minute, it's simply impossible to slow down. Even blinking feels like a waste of time. You can lose focus every millisecond, and that is unforgivable. So I just gave myself over to it. It's total ecstasy. To throw yourself into work. And after work, you know you'll be working again. And all the while, you'll be afraid that you won't be able to work."The exhibition is a continuation of The Great Burnout project previously realised at the TIC gallery.Artists: Monika collective Curators: Judit Szalipszki and Flóra Gadó
