Elections to the Academic Senate for the 2026–2029 term

The Academic Senate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (AS AVU) announces elections to the next Academic Senate for the 2026–2029 term. Elections to the Antidiscrimination Platform (AP AVU) will take place simultaneously.
Elections to the AS AVU
The elections will take place on Monday, 12 January 2026. The Election Committee will publish organisational guidelines by 12 December 2025. Voting will be in-person, and the elections are direct, written and by secret ballot. All academic staff members of AVU have the right to vote for the academic chamber; all students of AVU have the right to vote for the student chamber.
Election timeline
— Submission of candidacies: 5 November 2025 – 5 January 2026 (inclusive).— Publication of organisational guidelines, candidate lists (as of the date), and voter registers: by 12 December 2025.— Election day: Monday, 12 January 2026.— Publication of results: within 2 working days after the close of voting.— Inaugural session of the new AS AVU: Wednesday, 4 February 2026.
Starting today, you can submit your candidacy (or a nomination by a third party with the candidate’s consent pursuant to Art. 11 of the Election regulations) to the Election Committee via the Secretary of the Academic Senate, either in writing or by email to lucie.pesrova@avu.cz, no later than 5 January 2026 (inclusive).
Elections to the Antidiscrimination Platform (AP AVU)
Elections to the Antidiscrimination Platform will be held simultaneously with the AS AVU elections. All AVU employees, all AVU academic staff, and all AVU students have the right to stand as candidates and to vote in the elections to the Antidiscrimination Platform (AP). You may submit candidacies (or third-party nominations with the nominee’s consent) to ap@avu.cz by 5 January 2026 (inclusive).Further details will be published on the AP AVU webpage: https://avu.cz/en/department/antidiscrimination-platform.
Election Committee

The Committee will inform the AVU community about the elections and will manage their organisation in accordance with the AS AVU Election regulations.
