Kateřina Hochmuth studied International Development Studies at Palacký University in Olomouc. During her studies, she completed a six-month working residency at the International Academy of Art Palestine, a one-year study stay at the Université des Antilles et de la Guyane in Martinique, where she subsequently worked as an assistant professor on a research project on small islands, and several other stays in Paris, e.g. at the Centre tchèque.

After returning from France, she worked as a translator in a law firm, as an assistant curator of the Collection of Contemporary and Modern Art at the National Gallery, where she was involved in the management of the art database and the realization of international exhibitions, and most recently at a private Prague gallery and investment fund focusing on investments in the visual arts, where she managed, among other things, the art collection. She was part of the St. Petersburg Collective initiative and worked as a freelance editor for Lidové noviny.

She has been working at the Academy of Fine Arts as the head of the Research Support Department since 2022. She is a co-author of the international performative conference When, What and How? on artistic research, focuses on greater internationalization of PhD studies, provides support in the Research Catalogue or the submission of artistic and research results of the school (RUV, RIV).

She is a mother and occasional curator.
