Handbook of Artistic Investigation

The Handbook of Artistic Investigation introduces the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague’s Laboratory for Art, Research and Graduate Education (LARGE) and its approach to artistic research. Bringing together contributions by Czech and international artists and researchers, the publication explores how research in and through art is conducted, how it generates knowledge, and how it relates to other fields of inquiry.

Designed in the visual language of a technical manual, the book integrates essays, diagrams and images through a carefully structured colour-coded system that translates conceptual frameworks into visual form. Mapping both the traditions and emerging directions of artistic research at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, the publication offers an accessible introduction to one of the field’s most dynamic areas of practice.
