The second volume of a planned series of author's brochures that will gradually introduce individual graphic techniques. In the form of an illustrated handbook, it illustrates individual processes of working with intaglio printing and current knowledge about this graphic medium. Visual communication in the form of graphic sheets is interwoven with expert and popularising text in the publication. The aim of the edition is to expand the field of knowledge and practical possibilities both for the teaching of graphic techniques and for artistic practice. Intaglio printing is a set of graphic techniques in which the image is printed from the depth of the matrix. Classic examples include drypoint and, from wet techniques, line etching. In the brochure, we will introduce both classic and more experimental techniques, including their history, origin and development.
