The Kino GAVU screening series continues in the summer semester 2025/26 with a presentation of recent video works by Ančan / Anna Daučíková.

Daučíková’s video practice has undergone several phases over the past thirty years, in which different approaches and perspectives on the politics of the body, the work of memory, sexuality and desire, the representation of women from a feminist perspective, and gender experience extending beyond the boundaries of prescribed binarity and identity have been articulated. The screening presents a selection of works from the period 2017–2022, originally created for exhibitions abroad and only rarely shown on the domestic scene.Screened video works:

Anna Daučíková lives and works in Prague. In the 1990s she co-founded several women’s non-profit organizations and served as a spokesperson for LGBT rights in Slovakia. She has taught at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design (VŠVU) in Bratislava and at the Academy of Fine Arts (AVU) in Prague.
