La Biennale di Venezia 2026 è arrivata!

Dear students, teaching staff, and employees, The Venice Biennale 2026 is here again!

This year AVU is once again traditionally organizing a trip to Venice, organized and arranged by the Department of Theory and History of Art. It will be an opportunity to see one of the most important international exhibitions of contemporary art up close, to share impressions, discuss, and be inspired.

The trip is open to the entire AVU community, especially students and teaching staff, and, to a limited extent, also to school employees (8 places). The total capacity of the trip is 60 people.

The trip will take place from 15 to 19 October 2026. Departure by bus from Prague will be on Thursday, 15 October, in the evening. We will arrive in Venice on Friday, 16 October, in the morning. Departure from Venice will then be on Sunday, 18 October, in the evening, with arrival in Prague on Monday, 19 October, in the early morning hours.

The participation fee is CZK 1,500 per person. The price includes bus transport from Prague to Venice and back, as well as shared accommodation with breakfast in a hostel on the island of Giudecca, in rooms for 10–16 people. Each participant pays for their own Biennale ticket on site in Venice.

How to apply?

Registration for the trip is done via the online registration form, which was sent by email on June 4, 2026.

How to become a participant in the trip?

Based on experience from previous years, we expect demand to exceed the capacity of the bus and accommodation. Therefore, if the number of applicants exceeds the trip capacity, participants will be selected by lottery.

On 22 June, everyone who has completed the application form will receive information about their assigned identification number, which will subsequently be used in the lottery.

The list of selected participants, as well as any alternates, will be published on 23 June 2026 on the school website under the identification numbers. Due to the protection of personal data under GDPR, the names of applicants will not be published on the website.

On the same day, 23 June 2026, the selected participants will be contacted by email with payment details and a request to pay the participation fee of CZK 1,500, no later than 30 June 2026. If the fee is not paid by the deadline, the place will be offered to alternates.

An information meeting will take place during September 2026, dedicated to the trip programme, the main exhibitions of the Venice Biennale, and recommendations for accompanying events, exhibitions, and museums in Venice.

We look forward to seeing you!
