Shelter

Exhibition

The Figure Sculpture and Medal Studio, led by Prof. Vojtěch Míča, organised another edition of the exhibition at the Bastion of the Way of the Cross. ‘Shelter’ follows on from the previous exhibition project, ‘Eyes of the Skin’, which in 2025 showcased the work of lecturers, students and graduates from three sculpture studios at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague.

Date
1 October 2026 – 1 May 2027
Location
Bastion U Božích muk, Praha-Nové Město

Whilst 'Eyes of the Skin' focused on the physical and sensory experience of space, this year’s exhibition shifts the focus to the question of how we inhabit space, how it shapes us, and what makes it a place that can offer us support.

At the same time, it broadens the range of participating institutions: alongside the Academy of Fine Arts (AVU) and the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design (UMPRUM) in Prague, the exhibition also features the Faculty of Fine Arts at Brno University of Technology (FaVU VUT), the Faculty of Arts at the University of Ostrava, and the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art at the University of West Bohemia (ZČU) in Plzeň. The exhibition thus brings together different generations and forms of contemporary sculptural thinking across schools and regions.
