The project explores familial relationships through an emerging visual (graphic) language, while situating domestic kinship within a wider field of social interactions. It focuses on drawing as a mode of shared experience — visual, embodied, performative, and affective. Drawing is approached not as representation, but as an epistemic and relational tool that enables the articulation of experience beyond dominant verbal, analytical, and normative frameworks. It operates as an experimental practice in which meaning emerges through process, remains open to negotiation, and is shaped through shared attention and relationality.

Family is understood inclusively as a dynamic constellation of shared space, intimacy, and relational bonds, regardless of institutional or legal definitions. The project examines how visual language enables the reconfiguration of ways in which individuals and collectives perceive, structure, and reflect upon their relational field. Drawing is thus understood as a social act through which the family can become a witness to its own form and perceive itself differently, outside the limits of conventional communicative frameworks.

The research unfolds across three interconnected layers: collaboration with specific families who develop their own visual languages and situated diagrams of relationality; an individual drawing practice that produces an atlas of signs, diagrammatic structures, and process-based records grounded in tacit and embodied knowledge; and semi-public workshops involving participants such as artist peers, collaborators, and walk-in participants, testing drawing as an affective and relational medium. Together, these layers form a laboratory for new modes of seeing, sharing, and relating.
The project asks how relational dynamics can be captured without reduction to stable structures, what minimal set of signs is needed for their articulation, and how drawing may enter everyday life as a transformative practice. The aim is not to evaluate or repair relationships, but to open space for new ways of perceiving and co-creating them. How to see the family differently — and how this might reshape how we think about the future.
