The project deals with the use of textile technology and its significance as the basis for artistic work. In my case, it concerns the technology of weaving, its technological, semantic and metaphorical levels. Naturally, metaphors arise that work with ideas as threads and weaving as one of the ways of organising and arranging them into certain predispositions, which may or may not manifest themselves in the end result. Another important starting point is the significance of textiles as a material that embodies both delicacy and a fixed principle, or the parallel between text, textiles and techné, as considered, for example, by Catherine Dormor, i.e. the relationship between the material and its execution and (or) its principles and meanings. From my current perspective, the metaphorical nature contained in the material itself and in language and possibilities is important for the project, as is the question of how to grasp it while focusing on a process in which intuition is one of the important variables. How can the repetitiveness of the actions that the process involves for various technological reasons be utilised, what significance can it have, and how can this repetitiveness be used as the basis for a work of art without focusing on the finalisation of the product in the classical sense of textile art, without focusing on finalisation within the framework of textile techniques, because these are not the point at all? And where is the boundary between a literal quotation of the technological process and the use of its basic properties as a principle? And since when and why can we talk about the concept of techniques and parts of techniques (and which ones) as a means of shifting thinking, or even why, how and where it is emphasised in some ways of thinking about textiles?

Returning to the beginning of the annotation, to the linguistic parallel between textiles and text, anchored directly in the names of both media, to what extent is the meaning of this parallel achievable through art, and if so, in what ways? Can the textile process itself be both the starting point and the result of a work of art? If so, what is the output? How can one write with fibre and weave with text? And what are other ways of using this parallel? And what lies behind it?
