The work of Linda Wrong Páleníková (*1989) deals with themes such as the plant and animal kingdoms, rituals, myths, ecology, urban jungles with pop culture lights, and everyday survival in a chaotic world. She offers a personal reinterpretation of these themes, redefining them and bringing not only serious humour to each of her works. Her work oscillates between classical art, installation and design.

By combining seemingly disparate elements into a complex narrative, she creates dramatic installations. Each one is different, in a different time, space and context. The drama she uses, sometimes bordering on theatricality, illustrates the experience and the possibility of expressing, through material and space, therapy, dreams, or the simple presence of the moment, when the surrounding world materialises as only she sees it.

She uses different approaches to art during her studies (from conceptual and architectural to purely sculptural) in her work to create her own language.

Linda graduated from Lukáš Rittstein’s studio. During her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, she attended the studios of Monumental Art, Jiří Příhoda, and Intermedia 2, Pavla Sceranková and Dušan Zahoranský. Between 2011 and 2016, she studied in Ústí nad Labem in Jiří Kovanda’s studio. In addition to the Czech Republic, she has also exhibited in Yogyakarta, Germany, Poland, and Ukraine. She has participated in several international residencies and is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the Academy of Fine Arts.
