Lynda Zein (1989) is an architect and urban planner. She works as a commentator on urban planning in Prague and lectures on urban planning theory at Archip University.

In addition to her PhD project thematizing the experience and social implications of dis-construction, i.e. cycles of destruction and construction, she is interested in questions of collective memory and imagination, history and cartography, the relationship between time in accelerated space, social and territorial power phenomena, and the gentrification of time.

She studied architecture at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and urbanism at the École Spéciale d’Architecture in Paris, where she graduated in 2015 with the project Homs, our Cities of Stories, which introduces the concept of a digital participatory platform as one of the spaces for catharsis and archive of the memories of a destroyed city. She has developed the theme of “the real estate of war” in articles in The Funambulist magazine and Artalk magazine. She has worked in Prague, Barcelona and at the Est-Ce Ainsi studio in Paris.
