Women’s Homes / Exhibition Opening

The exhibition is a continuation of the two exhibitions of the same name, Women's Homes, from the first half of the 1990s, which presented – often publicly for the first time – prominent artists of the youngest generation. The group project at the AVU Gallery was initiated by them - former graduates of the Academy of Fine Arts and partly also of the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, born between 1963 and 1975. The exhibition reflects in a necessary brief the transformation of their artistic work over the last three decades. Through photographs, videos, drawings, objects, paintings and intermedia installations, it primarily thematizes individual and collective experiences of time (not only women's): retrospective returns or futuristic visions, the relativity of the present, the fleetingness of the moment, the longed-for eternity and the lack of time, the preservation of memories and forgetting, beginnings as well as endings.
