The bursar’s main responsibilities include managing the school’s finances and internal administration, drawing up the budget, preparing investment plans, ensuring compliance with statutory and internal regulations in the financial sphere, and being responsible for the management of the school’s assets. Her responsibilities also include, amongst other things, concluding financial contracts and leases for the school’s premises, as well as managing and monitoring compliance with fire safety, health and safety at work regulations within the AVU buildings.

The Bursar’s Office also functions as a registry, provides document management services, and maintains and administers the contract register.

The bursar is responsible for the Bursar's Office, GDPR Officer, the Financial Department, the IT Department, and the Technical Department.

Pavla Hivert is a cultural manager with many years’ experience in cultural institutions and projects. To date, she has worked as director of the Institute of Arts – Theatre Institute and as chief executive of the Prague Quadrennial, the world’s largest exhibition of scenography and theatre space. In addition to her managerial work, she also teaches at the Department of Arts Management at the University of Economics in Prague and contributes as an expert and assessor to the work of specialist councils and programmes both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
