Doc. PhDr. Pavlína Morganová, Ph. D., has been working at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague since 1997, since 2013 as the Head of the Scientific Research Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. In 2014–2016 she held the position of Vice-Rector for Student Affairs and in 2017–2022 the position of Vice-Rector for Arts, Science and Development. At the Academy she lectures on the history of Czech art of the 20th century. In recent years, she has conducted extensive research on the history of exhibition, resulting in the book Pavlína Morganová – Terezie Nekvindová – Dagmar Svatošová, Exhibition as a Medium. Czech Art 1957–1999 (VVP AVU, 2020). She is the author of Procházka akční Prahou / Action, Performance, Happenings 1939–1989 (VVP AVU, 2014), Czech Action Art / Happenings, Actions, Events, Land Art, Body Art and Performance Art Behind the Iron Curtain (Karolinum Press, 2014), Action Art (Votobia, 1999, 2. J. Vacl Publishers, 2010), co-editor of the anthologies Czech Art 1939–1989 / Programmes, Critical Texts, Documents (Academia, 2001) and Czech Art 1980–2010 / Texts and Documents (VVP AVU, 2012). She has published numerous texts in journals and catalogues, e.g. Jiří Kovanda / I Haven’t Been Here Yet (Wrocław Contemporary Museum, The Brno House of Arts, 2013), Islands of Resistance. Between First and Second Modernity 1985–2012 (National Gallery in Prague, 2011), Fluxus East (Künstler-haus Bethanien, Berlin 2007), Action, Word, Movement, Space (GHMP, 1999). She is the author of exhibitions such as Sometimes in a Skirt / Art of the 90s (Moravian Gallery in Brno and GHMP, 2014), The Beginning of the Century (West Bohemian Gallery in Pilsen, 2012, Gallery of Fine Arts Ostrava, 2013), Insiders / Inconspicuous generation 2nd half 90s (Brno House of Arts, 2004, Futura, 2005). In addition to her extensive publishing activities, she is the principal investigator of a number of professional grants and regularly participates in international conferences and symposia. She is a member of the editorial board of the Journal for Art, Theory and Related Zones, and since 2018 she has been a member of the editorial board of the journal ArteActa. In 2014–2017 she was a member of the editorial circle of Artlist, in 2015–2017 she was a member of the jury of the Jindřich Chalupecký Award.
