The AVU archive consists of unique sources pertaining to the history of Czech fine art of the 19th and 20th centuries, which is regularly supplemented with new documentation, along with an extensive collection of drawings and prints by lecturers and graduates of AVU dating from the end of the 18th century to the present day, along with a collection of photographs and newspaper cuttings.
Employees
The collection is one of the most important cultural collections of written and visual material in the Czech Republic. The archive also administrates the study documentation of AVU students, issues study certificates if necessary, and as a specialised workplaces processes and makes accessible archived documents to researchers.
For study purposes, the archive is accessible by prior arrangement with the archive staff and is located in newly adapted premises in the Modern Gallery.
