The rector’s office is the executive branch of the Academy, where organisational and coordination activities are carried out and the Academy and its bodies are managed. The rector’s office oversees habilitation proceedings and the appointment of professors.

The Rector is the statutory representative of AVU who bears responsibility, acts, and decides regarding AVU matters in full.
Rector's Office oversees and organises the following: the preparation and finalisation of annual reports, the agenda of habilitation proceedings and proceedings for the appointment of a professor, the preparation and finalisation of strategic documents, the administration of activities directly related to the activities of the Rector, the Artistic Board, the Board of Trustees, the Rector’s Advisory Board, and other advisory bodies of the Rector, and the maintenance of records of AVU gowns and insignia.
