The department offers specialized support tailored to the specific needs and challenges associated with completing doctoral studies. Its primary role is to assist students in organizing their doctoral studies, enhance their competencies in artistic and research practices, and prepare them for successful future careers. Among the key goals of the department is to foster an interdisciplinary research environment and connect students across all four AVU doctoral programs: Fine Arts, Theory and History of Contemporary Art, Artworks Restoration and Architectural Practice.

The department’s activities include organizing structured educational programs for both students and supervisors, and facilitating the communication of doctoral research outcomes to the broader public. The department is committed to maintaining high academic and research standards and ensuring that the requirements for awarding doctoral degrees are fully met.

  • Developing and implementing a unified methodology for categorizing outcomes of both artistic and theoretical doctoral research.

  • Establishing and coordinating thematic research groups to promote interdisciplinary collaboration within the Academy as well as with external partners.

  • Facilitating students’ integration into professional artistic, research, and academic communities, emphasizing connections to educational practices both locally and internationally.

  • Supporting publication in reputable professional journals and publishing houses, active participation in international conferences, and enhancing the public presentation of doctoral research outcomes.

  • Optimizing resource sharing and infrastructure utilization within AVU, thus furthering academic excellence.
